Thanksgiving thoughts for Pam aka "beepbeep"
#1
All,

I've just come back from a road trip with Pam, including Yosemite, a place she always wanted me to see. Unfortunately, she is now quite ill and will be spending Thanksgiving in hospital. I don't know the full prognosis right now but it was obvious during the trip that she wasn't her usual self.

For those that haven't met Pam, she posts here as "beepbeep" and I'm sure she'll appreciate any messages of support from those of you who have interacted with her in the past. I'll make sure she receives any you post.

Pam has a very severe form of lupus and has also battled cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. It's incredible she's still alive today and she continues to help those who have been diagnosed with lupus. And still has a wonderful sense of humor. She needs that to have stayed close to me for nearly twenty years!

Please send your Thanksgiving thoughts to her and I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving yourself!

Tom

Always unfortunate to hear of a fellow Punawebber (or anyone really, but especially) going through a rough patch.
The thought that somehow, somewhere someone else has it worse has never really appealed to me.
When I hear of a person being dealt a bad hand like that I just hope they're not religious, as they may then blame it on something they did in this life or the past. It's all just a roll of the dice and sometimes it's ****s.

Best of luck to you Pam, glad to hear you're still laughing, that's certainly something to be thankful for!

Sending you both hugs, prayers, and strength. I have been in your shoes, TomK, and it isn't something I wish on my worst enemy. Even though she wasn't feeling well, I hope you both enjoyed Yosemite. We used to camp there when I was young, and I have fond memories of those times. Keep laughing, Pam. Attitude is everything, and I am rooting for you. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Tom.

I'm glad you and Pam were able to spend some time together on the road Tom, Yosemite must have been beautiful this time of year. I've missed beepbeep's postings here on Punaweb recently. I've always enjoyed reading her comments and perspective as a welcome and positive addition to the conversation.

I'm sorry to hear she finds herself in the hospital this Thanksgiving Day, and wish her all the best. Get well soon Pam!

Thank you all, it's much appreciated and I will be sure to pass on your thoughts to Pam, they will definitely give her a boost! I also wish, after years of her bugging me, that I visited Yosemite earlier. What an amazing place to spend time with someone special.

I didn't take my camera but the cell phone didn't do a bad job of this:

If able, I'll try to get Pam to post something here soon. In the meantime, I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
