My vote is Kaleo's by far! One of the best burgs I have ever had. The Da Kine. Avocado, bacon, grilled onions and some ono beef. Tempura ahi roll with a side of sweet thai chili sauce (MUST HAVE) for app and it's a happy night!

While not in Pahoa we had lunch at Aloha Gourmet Burgers food truck at Miranda's new location in Keaau (Shipman Park). THE BURGERS WERE GREAT and best of all they come from their own local ranch. (Says Kalapana on FB but I don't really know)

Here's their menu and prices:

We'll be back.

Saw the sign on the corner, but couldn't find it -- they need more signage, or at least the corner sign should say "at Miranda's!"

This will, however, not stop me from trying again, and soon.

Just FYI they aren't there on the weekends. They do Farmer's Markets. Also I'm not sure what days exactly they are at Mirandas. I know I have seen them every Friday I have been there. While they know how to raise cattle and make burgers they are still figuring out how to run a food business. I'm pretty sure their food wagon at Mirandas wasn't visible from the street, and their only online presence (FB) doesn't help much.

Forgot to mention, food was fast. It came out before Miranda's got our order ready.

Probably not the best, but #1 Chinese BBQ in the Subway building at Pahoa Market Place has a surprisingly tasty double cheeseburger, deluxe or not, meal or not.

Cheers,

The little lunch shop in Shipman park where they make corn tortillas has fresh local beef hamburgers that really good.
