Interesting. Frankie Stapleton is party to this complaint? Nothing was said about that by Frankie, nor Sativa.
Is this a true statement made by the Tribune Herald? If so, Sativa gets a gold star for being up front about her complaint.
What say you, Frankie? Are you filing the complaint as an individual, or as a representative of the Democratic Party? Further, why let Sativa take the hits on this forum alone?
Your support of this complaint earlier (here on Punaweb) may have lent some "credibility", since some here believe you are credible. You post here all the time, why didn't you participate in the discussion?
Let's see what comes of this within "a month" as stated in the article.
The machinations in total are astounding.

Repected Opihikao, IIRC, Frankie Stapleton mentioned somewhere on Punaweb that she did not have internet access for about two weeks. Thus, it would have been difficult for her to engage in on line discussion. She has the right, though, to file and participate in a complaint whether or not she chooses to discuss it here.
Whatever the investigation determines, I think this matter (as well as the incorrect owner-occupant tax exemption) raises some issues that the voters in the runoff would be wise to consider.

Chunkster, mahalo for your reasoned response.
Thank you also for the reminder about Frankie being off line. She is posting again as of 8/25. Agreed about her rights, completely. She has been very politically involved, ran a successful campaign for Joy, and it would seem this would be a topic she would freely comment on. It was just odd that it comes out in the newspaper, which prompted my question.
This topic was opened on July 28th, and discussed ad nauseum prior to the hurricane though. I'm just curious, and learning the unfortunate "political world" we live in today.
Pahoated, you said it. Completely agree.
Overall, this election is as screwed up as our last one. Auwe. Hopefully, the process is improved at some point. No matter the outcome of this particular case, it will show us all to pay better attention.

Politics never ceases to inform.
Learn from them Grasshopper.
If they say virtual residency is valid in court. I could then continue to live in Hawaii but be a virtual resident of Washington State for tax purposes (no income tax) or Alaska for the oil revenue share. Shoots why not both? Multiple residency will also be validated.
I think I will vote in Kohala, however because I don't like Margret Willie.
No wait; better yet, register in District 5 for the general election. We have until October 6 to "move" , and can do it all by mail.
Ain't Misbehavin' .... It's all just "political theater" .

I think Sativa ended up "taking the hits" here because of both the virulent tone and sheer volume of her posts. I would understand why Frankie might not want to associate herself with someone who presents herself the way Sativa does on line, that doesn't preclude Frankie from filing a separate complaint on her own, that is not directly related to Sativa.

Yeah, that's exactly what happened.

Carol, I hear you. It is such a convoluted mess. I just thought we were all "friends" here, so we talk about stuff to each other. (lol.[ ])
Frankie's no shy violet, and has tenure in this town, especially when it comes to politics. I guess it took me aback when I read this article, if indeed factual. Did not realize the inner works of political relationships, or lack thereof.
Perhaps it's all politics as usual. Still learning the lengths people will go to for politics (on all sides of this one).

It's called blaming the messenger.
History is full of "why didn't anybody do anything" laments by people who never do anything.

A voice of courage is often only quietly appreciated until the danger has passed.
I'm not sure where the post is now, in which topic, but if you recall there was a coalition that went into the State building to talk to the AG. I think the complaint is just a next step by the coalition, although one of them can confirm.
To think that only one person was pursuing this would be a mistaken idea by this forum. Sativa has plenty of support. She says what she thinks, but that does not automatically make her a vitriolic person. There are those who want to shoot down any criticism of Hunt, who will look for any weak point in the image of someone who is standing against her, and will harp on that to deflect attention of the issue.
Don't let that obscure your vision. You are all smarter than that.
