The stop sign on the corner near Keonepoko school is merely a suggestion.

Some drivers of big jacked up pickups think they have the right of way. Always. Or maybe they just can't see any cars within 50 feet of their vehicle.

When driving in Puna, please do not come to a complete stop to shaka, please only throw a moving shaka when there is traffic behind you!

When driving down Maku'u, do not stop to check out what looks like a dead Rottweiler on the side of the road. You may think you are making sure the dog is not suffering, but when you get close you will notice it is a huge wild boar and it will freak you out.
(happened to me last night)

When backing out of the poke shack on Leilani, watch for traffic turning left off of Kanoelehua. Pulling out in front of left turners causes cars to be stuck in the intersection after the light turns red.

When approaching speed limit reduction signs, remember the proper translation in Hawaiian is "Speed Trap".
