yeah the black bee "bombardier" not that big of a problem my house is all custom wood , big beams , quality wood , the place is still standing after years of bee snacking .
again people that move here have to adjust, coexist , learn to adapt

You really don't want to live in Puna if you have a job in Hilo .
Unless you have a helicopter or transportation machine. I have neither. FML.

In Puna - If you are a new comer to East Hawaii , the Island - a person should rent for at least a year before buying a home.
In Puna - If a person works in Hilo,should buy a home in Hilo .
In Puna - most home owners tent fumigate their homes once a year to stop B-52s and termites of any variety.
In Puna - Old timers NEVER spray poisons on their roofs as it ends up in the home water catch,in the filters and plumbing.
In Puna - Thousands upon thousands do not rely on Helco for power.
In Puna - Cash is king - as ATM's are often out of order.
