Greggor Cancels Trip
#1
Copied from Bobbie Jean's public Facebook page:

He probably doesn't want any publicity but Greggor Ilagan cancelled his vacation to Europe with his family to stay here and help the community. It means he eats the money he paid for the trip since he can't get a refund...

This young man has great promise, and his dedication to our community is quite admirable. He has also started sending daily email updates to his constituents:

Dear *******,

I would like to provide regular updates regarding the Hawaii County response to the ongoing lava flow emergency. On Friday, September 12, I met with department heads and Hawaiian Electric Light Co. officials to get an understanding of what plans are in place to ensure that critical infrastructure (including water, roads, solid waste and electricity) is available in the event that the flow crosses Highway 130.

Beginning Monday, I will try to get you updates every workday. Please forward this to everyone on your contact list. Please do not hesitate to call my office if you have any questions about this information.

Sincerely,

Greggor Ilagan, Council Member
District 4 | Hawaii County Council

Hey, I don't agree with pahoated about gregor; But aren't politicians fair game for criticism? Or just some?

Sure. They are actually entitled to take vacations too. Greggor canceled his, what is there to complain about?
Assume the best and ask questions.

Calling Europe "haole land" is that high brow level of discourse that we have come to expect on PW as of late. Thanks to Rob for attempting to maintain civility.

You know that he was told he was not ducking out anywhere at this time. Plain and simple, he was trying to duck out.

REALLY!

I know this how?

From what creditable "source" - YOU!

I think "NOT"!

Have you met the young MAN - shook his hand - looked him in the EYE - TALK STORY off the "campaign trail" - MAN to MAN?

I think NOT!

Question: Have I been "trolled"? Sigh - I "bite" so easy!

From Pahoated:

"You know that he was told he was not ducking out anywhere at this time. Plain and simple, he was trying to duck out."

That doesn't even make sense.

KeaauRich - depends on the airline, but he probably hasn't lost his money if he can rebook within the next year even with a non-refundable ticket, but there will be extra fees. Then again, if the trip was booked months ago, and I don't know when it was booked, how would he know about the lava flow emergency?

As for the "haole land" thing, well, let's put that aside for the time being no matter how insulting it is.
