Alternatives to Spectrum TV?

I would appreciate hearing about alternatives to Spectrum TV. I feel like I am paying too much for too little and may want to just go internet only.
Anyone care to share their experiences with other providers? Mahalo.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Hulu Live has 50 channels streaming for $40 a month.
Sling TV starts at 30 channels for $20 a month. I don't watch much network tv, cable news, or live sporting events, so I've managed fine for over 5 years with an antenna for local tv, plus Netflix & regular Hulu. I have DirecTV now and they just added local channels and dvr. I pay $35 a month for the bottom tier 60 channel package. It is a great service but internet is required as it is iptv. I hear Philo is the best deal if you don't care about sports channels: https://try.philo.com

Rob - I'm a bit like HOTPE, but think it depends on what you want to watch. I'm perfectly happy with OTA TV, when it's working, and have a sling account, but use that solely to watch cricket which I doubt you're interested in. If you have a decent internet service there's an awful lot you can watch online; even via Amazon if you're a prime member. But I think it's a personal choice depending on what you enjoy watching.

13 free over-the-air channels, Netflix, and Amazon Prime.
Netflix standard tier allows two screens to be watched at once. Screens don't have to be in same household. So if you know somebody who is using the service and only watching on one screen... Amazon prime video is "free" for prime members.

Amazon Prime YouTube (music, foreign shows, documentaries) VPN + rarbg/thepiratebay + utorrent (or so I am told by neighbor's dog)

Stop paying money for cable...Buy a Roku device for about $30.00 at target or walmart which plugs into your tv's hdmi port and watch thousands of free movies, tv shows, etc. Combine that with free OTA TV channels using a good TV siginal enhanced indoor antenna (about 40.00 at Walmart)

With roku you get live local news.
If the "local" news were actually "local", this might be compelling. I have little interest in the latest water main break, congestion on H1, or updates about "rail running out of money".

Forgot to mention I have hundreds of free channels our LG "smart" tv gets via the internet. But most of them are crap and its too difficult to weed through them all. Plus you can download apps that bring in more content. You can also watch live TV on youtube and most smart TVs have youtube apps preinstalled along with amazon and Netflix.
ETA: Same thing with our Sony "smart" DVD player. Between their various apps and channels hundreds and hundreds of channels of crap. |
