Hi gang,
Has anyone been seeing dumped goats in their subdivisions? We came back from Japan yesterday and saw that someone had dumped a white goat corpse on 38th in Orchidland Estates. I can't find the number for Ghost Busters so......Do I call Humane Society(which I hate to do as they are busy with live animals) or do I bother the police about this and have it sit there for a month or so till somebody comes by and picks it up(like the car that was abandoned and reported a month ago)
Smartarsness asides appreciated but help would be even more appreciated.... yano

I would call the humane society first rather than the police. They ought to be able to say if there's animal cruelty involved. Don't be surprised if either option you ask about doesn't help, but a goat corpse is a bit unusual - it might pique the humane society's interest.

The police will tell you to call the Humane Society.

Details? Was this goat maybe hit by a car or was it butchered? Also, your thread title says goats as in plural...

Thanks Joe
@leilanidude: I have not inspected the carcass as it smells really badly and is covered in blowflies, which makes it hard to see how or why it is dead.
I implied plural if others had seen or reported more.

I saw a dead white goat on Aulii in OLE on side of road a few years ago. A few hours later it was gone.

Sounds harsh, but the pigs will probably dispose of it.

My first assumption upon seeing a dead goat on the road in my neighborhood would be that it got hit by a car. My first response would be to drag it onto my property and compost it. I would be glad of it for the natural fertilizer value. I would also view it as sort of a science experiment.
You need lots of wood chips to compost a goat. Grass clippings work too as long as the grass was tall and weedy. Wet green clippings from a golf course or short lawn would mat down too much.

Er....wouldn't some dismemberment be appropriate? Speed the process.
