Internet Cafe Obsolete?
#1
My brother's hourly computer rental in a hotel lobby in Cabo (Mexico) was wiped out last week during hurricane. He asked me if there was a need for internet cafe in the Puna district? We read through many of the prior posts on this subject and it seems most people use an existing computer and wi-fi spot and besides the two places in Hilo and Sirius in Pahoa others seem to fail.
I suggested that because many people have slow or limited internet access a place with very high speed access to download/upload files (not pirated), economical printing capability from computers and ipads and also color printing and scanning. Perhaps a graphics workstation with Photoshop and Illustrator too. Maybe some other business services?

Pahoa Home Video offers internet, computers, printing, copies.
Sirius Coffee also offers internet access.
Probably a few others too.

Paradise Business Center also provides printing, copies, and computers for internet.

Internet access limited at some libraries and at some credit union. I believe you need to be a credit union bank customer but I could be wrong.

The Tin shack Bakery is already filling that need for Pahoa, but of course they are in Pahoa village so who knows what their future holds.

Some good feedback, Mahalo. Seems like the majority of places are in Pahoa.

The majority of everything is in Hilo. Pahoa and Keaau are tied for a distant second.

edited to add: I have friends and family in Mexico, what happened to that whole area is mind blowing, and no one here knows about it. So sorry your brother lost his business.

Mahalo Carol for the words about Mexico and the business loss. To clarify I meant that the "majority" of locations people suggested were closer to Pahoa.
