Our pool has hit 90 and with the outside temp at 90 - isnt a deal to swim in the afternoon.... but night swimming is awesome and watching the shooting stars are the best!
That DOES sound awesome!

Watch out Kat, Tom K may want to use your pond as his "remote viewing station" for his work!

TomK is welcome any time.
It was especially good while the power was out - night sky was so bright!

Hi Terracore, what brand is your fan? Couldn't find a 30w solar fan for 100 bucks or so on eBay. Mahalo

Haven't used our air conditioners since we had them installed 9 years ago. That was until last week. OMG ..what a difference. Our pets don't want to go out anymore.

Thank god it is a heat wave. Lately I have been taking naps, all exhausted, no yard work, no nothing!
I thought my hormones were out of wacko.
But, I am beginning to enjoy those early afternoon siestas, that those south americans take every day.
now I understand. -

In theory I can run UKIRT remote operations from my laptop, so sitting in a nice pool, watching the stars while also running UKIRT remote ops sounds like a fantastic idea! All I need is a decent wifi connection. But beware, you'll probably end up with the rest of the UKIRT crew visiting if it sounds as good as this, and you might not like that so much!

93 record shattering day for Hilo. It was 94 in HPP. Been here 10 years and never have seen it so hot. And they forecast this to continue for at least another week or two with very high humidity and some rain.

Today is the 18th anniversary of my arrival in the island for work (I had been here before on observing trips) and the next two weeks were similar to this, but I don't think quite as hot. Was in Hilo all day today and it was *really* hot. Oh, thinking back to that time 18 years ago; two weeks of excessively hot weather and then it rained solid for the next three or four weeks. I really wondered what I had let myself in for...
