Having everyone and their cousin lining up for their chance to run the flamethrower isn't helping either. It is remarkable that out of all the people who have all the answers not one of them is volunteering to serve on the board or do anything more constructive than complain about what they see as wrong. Under present circumstances that anyone is willing to sit on the board at all is amazing.

Flamethrower? What we are doing is pointing out what's going wrong in our subdivision. This way we can point out what the board is doing wrong and fix it rather then putting our subdivision in jeopardy like the litigation the board has brought down on the Association and themselves.

Or, you can let these people run wild and cause more damage to us.
Wouldn't you rather know what's going on?

As others have posted "We need to protect our property and its value".

[As members of HPPOA, we would like to constructively address the concern that seems to be growing and growing, over the chaos created by the current HPPOA board of directors. We encourage all interested fellow members to be informed and think about real and viable solutions, as many of the contributors to this thread are beginning to try to do.
NEW COMERS:
First off: Know the by laws which are easily accessed through the HPPOA website in the green box left hand corner under “Executive Information > Current Bylaws”
Secondly: access and READ the current lawsuit filed against HPPOA and certain members of the current BOD which can be found on www.ponohpp.com
And if you are displeased with the current board of directors who seem to be oblivious to the chaos they have created, and continue to create, and would like them recalled, then download and sign one of the on-line petitions for their removal, if you are in their respective district.
You will find the recall petitions and the P.O.Box for mailing them to, on the website www.ponohpp.com . The P.O. Box is also printed on the bottom of the recall petition.
And last: sign up to run for the board if you have the time and energy and change the course of this floundering flow.
Mahalo!

Hit the nail on the head, Sir.

I miss Carol. Because of this division (HPP) she's gone. [V]

Karma, you're right. Hope y'all get it together, and soon.

Far too much is going on to be divisive in your community. Some ohana who live in HPP can not believe the disdain shown to "neighbors".

As has been already suggested, we are amidst a crisis of sorts. Time to focus.

Thank you, mermaid, for answering my question. I appreciate it. I can see why the County may be considered "uncooperative." I can also see that HPP is being uncooperative. What is a "right of entry" and why is it needed, especially in a state of emergency? (Not to put mermaid on the spot -- Anyone?) In addition to everything else, barricades would only add to the chaos.

JMO, please.

The Right of Entry document is from the County asking for just that. Shipman was also given one. Barricades actually would cut down the chaos by funneling vehicles up Makuu instead of free access throughout the park. Upper paved roads in HPP have requested speed bumps bc vehicles speed to the highway. Some don't even live in the park and live on the mauka side of the highway. They can't turn L onto the Hwy so they turn R and then L into HPP and speed through. Think of this on a much larger scale. JMO

In talking to friends and neighbors, it seems everyone has a variety of good ideas about barricades. I'm open to the ideas, but still don't see any good solutions given human nature to always find the shortcut. That's all. I just think we could drive ourselves crazy trying to enforce their designations. CMV.

I guess I still don't see why the County needs a Right of Entry document given the state of emergency. Maybe they know that.

What I'm seeing is a lot of people with various personal agendas bickering to the point of overt hostility and accomplishing nothing except to create anger, which ultimately leads nowhere. I'm neither pro nor anti board (and I do live in HPP). I don't expect or want anything more than to keep the roads passable. If I want to get worked up over something it's going to be something that matters a lot more than who is sitting on the HPP board and what they are doing.

The website in the above post is to SUPPORT the legitimately fired workers.
This group is helping the fired workers sue us, the HPPOA.

How many times do you need to hear it?
It has been said over and over and over at official Board meetings:
HPPOA HAS INSURANCE THAT IS COVERING THIS.
WE HAVE A LAWYER WHO IS GETTING PAID BY INSURANCE.

and HPPOA is going to win.
This group at the website above is anti HPPOA and is using scare tactics like saying we as an association are paying for this lawsuit when it is insurance paying for this.

please do not get distracted by these promotors of the fired employees.
Stay focused on getting this HPPOA Board to prioritize getting HPPOA business done, like getting more directors on board.
Don't join the forces helping the fired employees. There are reasons they were fired, see this long thread.
Diversionary tactics: lawsuit, lawsuit, lawsuit. Distractions

Karma

Note 3 things.

The board has already paid $5000 or our road fees to retain their lawyer not the insurance company, just read the profit and loss statement.

It is obvious that you have not read the insurance policy under indemnification, you will be surprised what they don't cover.

It is apparent that you don't care about the truth. All your information is hearsay at this point.

that was for the land use lawyer.
