HPP Board 2014
A search of the Bylaws does not find the words "ban" or "premises". The word "property" comes up under "protecting or maintaining Association property". Safety arises under "hidden driveways".

Can anyone think of other keywords that would relate to banning a member(s) from Association property?

If not, this action is NOT within the Board's authority, even if done in a public meeting with a quorum.

ETA second part of last sentence.

I wouldn't expect the road fees to go up this year, this board said they were going to cut costs and save money. If that is true where are the savings, shouldn't there be a reduction in fees if there is a savings?
Moreover, the Association has well over $1.5 million in various savings accounts, just read the balance sheet.

In my opinion, us owners have been over charged for many years and this board is doing the same thing to us.

I understand an emergency fund but they should have lowered the road fees this year.....just saying.

The bank for the 12 million loan make them keep about 1million in reserve

It's not a loan it is a bond and that reserve is kept separate in the bond account. It's held as the last payment about $1.2 million.

There is no excuse for this Association to hold so much of our money in savings or as I call it, over payment. Dale Watson use to say since it's there it should be used for equipment and manpower or give it back to us!

Thank you all of you for correcting me that there are no CC$R'S

So all of this just boils down to roads.

It seems the yearly dues are as large as an association with such.

Wow, wow, wow, the problem is even smaller, but yet a larger issue.

Hope you guys can work it out!

Drove down a few roads in PP today and was pleasantly surprised by the conditions. A couple were paved very well while others seemed to have a fairly fresh layer of clean gravel. After the rain we had a few days ago I was expecting much worse. We have lived in paradise park a couple different times and still remember bad roads, blind intersections, and plenty loose dogs, not today though.
With whale season around the corner are there some cool places down along the coast of PP to see or hear these ocean beasts?. Also anyone know when shipman trail will be reopened after Iselles wrath? Looking forward to seeing the clearing or possibly better access to the beach.

And another one bites the dust.

Roseanne Mclean resigned in district 8.

That's 6 resignations in 5 months.

I wonder why she resigned because she was one of them.

The website only has district 8 open for an interim member and as I pointed out before they never posted district 1 and appointed the director anyway. That action is illegal and must be posted.

If I were Craig I would demand that they post it or all his votes will be invalid. Just read the bylaws under vacancy.

What is "one of them"? I really haven't the time or energy to read through 37 pages of confusing and inner-circle accusations to figure out who "them" is.

Great news! 1 more down and 3 left to go if my math is correct.

Tom, briefly, our HPP board was taken over by a group of people who seemed to have the single minded agenda of firing the General Manager, Office manager(?) and Road Superintendent in one fell swoop with no reason and no plan for continued operations (at least that's what I can see)

At first, they seemed all self congratulatory about what they had done and were snooping through emails and counting missing nuts and bolts searching for justification for their actions. When a bunch of property owners began to question their reckless actions they became very defensive and got very angry at the people they are supposed to be serving, and there was even a vote of no confidence by the membership at one of the meetings asking them all to resign.

There is also a lawsuit by the former employees who were terminated with no cause which names all the reckless directors and also puts our subdivision's assets at risk because they are operating outside their roles and responsibilities as directors. They are also probably violating laws of the State of Hawaii.

You can read the full text of the lawsuit here if you wish:
http://www.ponohpp.com/

Disclosure: I am not a party to the lawsuit and not a member of any sectarian group involved in the apparently ongoing HPP power struggle. The opinions expressed above are my own as a concerned citizens who just wants our annual road fees to be spent on maintaining our roads and keeping them safe, and to continue trying to work with the County, Civil defense, etc for the health and welfare of our community, and to try to get the County to help subsidize some of our costs with all the taxes we pay here in alohaland.
Steve

Edited on 11/26/14 to make some of the text bold and a different color because HawaiiDeborah keeps insisting that anyone who doesn't love the "new board" must be a member of some evil group. (which is pure fantasy perpetuated by the BLOPP cabal (Board Lovers Of Paradise Park).
