Wow, a 235 mph hurricane!

Farourtsider this one is the 8th super typhoon for 2014 and all packed winds over 200 mph. 8 billion USD damage this year and that is before this one hits.

I have not seen a single home after 2 years in the Philippines with proper hurricane clips. I fact I tried to find any hardware store that sold any. What we do on Hawaii Island is so far an overkill for the actual risk it is like being forced to buy a tank to go shopping.

All told, including clips, slab bolts, cross braces, and tempered glass windows I must have spent $2500 more on my home to get ready for hurricanes that don't hit Hawaii Island.

Well at least all that will help during the next big shake.
