Loving it! Never liked the Seminoles so it's even sweeter. Congrats to Marcus and the Ducks. Hope they win it all!

Mariota has done Hawaii proud.

FSU is the poster child for everything that is wrong with big time college football and Mariota is the poster child for everything that is right. The Seminoles just gave up in the second half and then most of their players went into the locker room instead of shaking hands with the Ducks, truly classless.

I am more into the flowers so did anyone see the Parade?

The Dole float was awesome complete with volcanoes puffing.

And made me glad to be here not there as those people looked like they were freezing! Second coldest float day in 126 yrs. Nice to be watching it from our warm climate windows open.

Did you see the "Go for Broke" float for the 442nd? I thought it was really cool that there was a float dedicated to those guys.

Yes I did. It came right before I think the MC band. (I have it recorded so I will double check.) I also watched all the clips from the soldiers that are still alive that visited while the decorating was being done!

Watching the parade helps that little bit of homesickness, watching the temp there cures me of it.

We got out of there in the nick of time! A marching band of 300 checked into our hotel in Burbank as we were packing up to come home. Six days of sweaters and the need for socks dispelled all myths and fantasies I ever had of "sunny southern California"! The news even forecasted snow at 2,000' elevations! It even started to rain as we were pushing back from the gate at LAX! Ah, so very glad to be home. Maybe now, we can finally get over our colds.

Living in Oregon for many years, I've watched many Rose festival parades. Seeing it on TV doesn't do it justice. I have lived in portland for 5 years and in Eugene Oregon for 5. It's like watching the ducks play on TV vs watching them play at autzen stadium (the loudest stadium in the world). It truly is a unique experience no matter what the weather. Once I went to Civil War and and fog rolled in, couldn't even see 20 yards in front of you. Half way down the field you didn't know what the heck happened. Tho it didn't matter when the fog horn was going off you knew the ducks were winning. Fun stuff. Even funner riding the bicycle home! Big Grin

Oh yeah, Lucky we live Hawaii! I do miss it tho! I don't miss the snow and freezing rain.
