Yes strong gusts up here in Gloom wood.Kona winds, very Iselle but from the south southwest.
Some Ohia Lehua are down up here, the dead ones are shedding like crazy.

Looks like blizzard conditions on both peaks, news tonight said 130mph gusts on Maunaloa.
Citrus tree's heavily loaded and shedding fruit.Gonna have fresh juice by the gallons soon nuf.

We make our own power so never have surges or black outs.

Rock N Roll island style.

Power went out at 11:00 last night. Got up this morning and got the generator running to put some cold back into the fridge and freezer. Wasn't home yesterday and didn't get any potable water stored so It is off to the county water spigots so I can make coffee!!

Came over Saddle about 8:00 last night.... What a ride!! LOL

Stay safe out there.

In Leilani service went out around 9 pm and came back on a little before 6 am. You could hear the chainsaws going a little after 5 this morning and the HELCO crews working. Actually sounded like they were replacing a pole but I haven't been out yet so just a guess.

Seems to be island-wide issues

Last night HELCO said a tree going down in Kaohe homesteads took out the power for parts of Leilani, Black Sands and Pahoa, they didn't know about HPP until we called about 11. This morning when they called to tell us our power was back on they said we are still under a wind and flash flood watch for today and there are power issues all over the island.

Just got power back around 8 am. Out since around 11 last night. Albezias on Maku'u mostly cleared by one cop and a nice neighbor. Side streets still need some chainsaw work. 15th between Paradise and Maku'u impassable. Called CD and they said said Leilani is bad.

Very awesome when viewing the animation from the weather satellite over the mainland northwest. Hawaii is way down to the lower left. We are just getting little side swipes of the tail, the main storm pushing up against the jet stream all the way to the north pole. The mainland is going to get clobbered in a couple days.

Aloha kakahiaka all! Hope everyone is safe. Apparently all roads are open in Puna at this hour, but we still have many trees down and HELCO is overloaded with repairs. Some are stuck at home due to fallen trees.

HCPD is all over Puna due to lines and trees down. Here is the scanner link for updates:
