pog, you are starting to get it. You should read those abstracts I provided. They are fascinating and those scientists are heading for Nobel prizes esp. in chemistry. Remember the substance around the drill is different then the tailings that were carted off. And again there are State rule for how to deal with the substances. Magma is not one of them. Can't you just stay up a bit longer and explain why we wouldn't have a core without oxidation? It'd be quite an eye-opener for the astrophysical community. Many of them live here by the way.
