ACE Hardware to Reopen February 1, 2015

After shutting down operations last year, the Ace Hardware store in Pahoa has announced plans to reopen.

HouseMart Pahoa Ace Hardware closed its doors on Dec. 18, 2014 due to the lava flow threat.

It will reopen on Feb. 1, 2015 with slightly reduced daily store hours of 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Normal hours were 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

HouseMart’s chief operating officer, Cory Chagami, told KHON2 that the store’s manager has been actively monitoring the flow and attending all Hawaii County Civil Defense meetings. He believes it is worthwhile to reopen the store.

Home Depot is bigger, so they can suck more, just a 45-minute drive unless there's an accident or some construction. What's not to like?

I am glad ACE is reopening for them, their employees and the community. I can't figure out why someone would take the energy to say they suck. I've always had good service there. If you don't like them, don't go there.
