Wow!
Some of these gusts are strong. I'm surprised we haven't lost power yet down in beaches (not even a flicker!) UPS has not even beeped. I can just imagine what it might feel like up at 2K' or higher.

We are off grid - always have power.
Friends on Rd 11 in Hawaiian Acres between C and D had a large ohia lehua fall on their new garage. No major damage but extra work and a surprise.
Kona gusts it seems, calm one minute, nasty gnarly gusts the next.
Tree's are dancing and singing on our farm.

According to the NOAA weather forecast for Pahoa today, the wind gusts are supposed to be up to 48mph. Yesterday the gusts were forecast to be up to 30mph. Let's hope these gusts are short-lived.

I can believe it....watching the clouds moving across the sky from the second floor. Hope everyone stays safe.

Here in leilani we are getting blasted by some strong gusts of wind. We keep thinking our power is going to go out at anytime. We hope geothermal can handle, so we don't get another planned release. Any winds like this before last years hurricane Iselle we surely would lose power. Almost like helco improved its lines, we haven't had the same number of power outages since. Maybe the geothermal plant and helco technology can now handle the winds of 40 mph without having to shut down or dump its extra waste?
This type of wind probably is not good for our lychee and mango trees. The trees were loaded with flowers the last two dry weeks, with these black carpenter bees all over them.
