seriously though, seems the wind might be settling down just a bit up here? maybe too soon to tell, but the gusts seem a little more sane.

A gust just blew the 5 lb box of dog treats from the table onto the lanai floor - to the great delight of the resident dogs.... ripping pretty good here at 1600 ft.

It is an ill wind that does not blow some dog some good.....

Power out all am in Leilani. Very strong gusts with the frightening snapping/ripping sounds of trees and limbs giving way.

Sherri Bracken saying on radio there are power outages in Leilani, Nanawale, Beaches/Shores, Ainaloa, HPP, Orchidland, HA.

HELCO working to restore power. State of the art tree catching system still functioning. Wink

I called kaleo's at noon to order some burgers and was told they had no power.

Was just talking to one of our neighbors who had been in Hilo today...he said that Pahoa has no power.
