Condolences to the family. Very thankful for allowing me to show our family what Hawaii means. The spirit of what he created is the reason we chose to be in Puna.

It is a sad time for those left behind, in some ways. My heart and aloha hugs go out to you Opihikao and all the ohana who loved and knew Uncle so well, to those who knew him only a little bit, and to all who only knew of him via his legendary beautiful loving Spirit. Thank you for posting the YouTube video of him voicing Aloha. It is wonderful! Love really is the answer to Every Thing. May we carry it in our hearts and forward as we remember this great man, this beautiful soul of Puna Kaimu.

Oh Dam. Uncle Robert. I've chatted with him a few times or more. There's nobody on the island I've ever met who had such strength, moral values and Aloha. Such an impressive Hawaiian, not that race would be a matter for Uncle. The most friendly, compassionate interested in anybody's talk story 'Hawaiian' one could have the fortune to meet. .
A towering fellow, hands so large he could squeeze the life out of you if, he had he a mind too. But never the once, to shake his hand was to feel the gentle nature of a giant. A giant of a man with a heart bigger than himself.. Dam! Uncle Robert, Dam, Even though I know he wouldn't' like to hear me talk so, dam, Hawaii has lost one of, if not the only, truest men on the Island.
Of the most remarkable men to have known.
Mahalo Uncle Robert, Mahalo dam it. And Aloha my friend, I'm truly grateful to have known the Aloha of Uncle Robert, truly sad too.
Mahalo Uncle Robert Keli'iho'omalu.

Our hearts and prayers go out to the entire great Keli'ilo'omalu ohana. When someone this giving or blessed passes and moves on we are never ready or prepared. We feel very blessed to have met and known such a great man. He loved his ohana, his aina, his music and food, most importantly he loved all that made puna. His kindness and true Aloha spirit will never be forgotten.

Between Friday and Sunday, all who come to Kaimu please show respect for Uncle, please show reverence. The loss of such a beloved kupuna cannot become a spectacle, or a platform for posturing by any group(s) or individuals. (Apologies, however, I have some personal concerns.)
Mahalo in advance, for being part of his life (if you were), for showing respect to him, and may we all carry his message of the true meaning of "aloha".
May Ke Akua bless Uncle and his ohana, and all of us.
