Hibiscus Society/Club?
#1
is there a Hibiscus Society here?

There doesn't seem to be a chapter of the American Hibiscus Society anyplace west of Texas.

Not hibiscus specifically. There is a Palm Society, Orchid Society, Water Garden Club, Rhododendron Society and recently a Cacao Growers group that is starting up.

Since it's your idea - and a good one - why not start one up?

Yeah, a lot of the new hybrid hibiscus are pretty amazing. Huge blooms, multiple colors, and lots of that lavender-blue that can look great or bruised.

I just bought one from Pahoa Feed & Fert. 4 colors in one large flower: gold, orange, hot pink with a red center. Wow!

I only knew about the Cacao group because there was a meeting announcement in the H T-H Datebook. If you are interested, I suggest you check it out for the new 4 Saturdays until it comes around again with all the info. Good luck.
