If you really believe this you have a very naive understanding of the status of reproductive rights in this country. ....and get fired from her job for missing a shift at Walmart, has no one to take care of her children, plus many states have gotten all but 1 or 2 clinics that perform abortions closed, and added 48 waiting periods which make it almost impossible for a single mom living on minimum wage to obtain an abortion.
You are either being deliberately dense about this, or you are too bent on blaming the victim for being pregnant from rape to think about all the barriers that exist for POOR women. Not middle class women with cell phones, cars, credit cars, and personal days off from work, and spare money to spend at the end of the month, but POOR women who have no extra money, very limited resources in terms of people to cover child care for 3 days while they take a bus to another state, money for a motel room while waiting out the 48 hour waiting period, and are generally not in a position to use google to find a provider of either the morning after pill or an abortion. If the only hospital in your town is a Catholic hospital rape victims are denied the pill when the rape kit was done, even if they are too young to safely have a baby.

That makes no sense... A "teapublican" wouldn't promote the morning after pill nor can what was expressed be considered determining what's best for a woman's body, especially when the topic revolves around child custody issues of a child conceived through rape. I see a lot of wild grasping at straws there.

007's approach would make the special circumstance custody issue a moot point. Problem solved. For every numbskull choice, we are expected to produce and enforce a special protections law? I call Bull 5hit on that notion.
I would support a law that disallowed a convicted rapist to have child custody rights, period. End of special circumstances arguments. No child custody rights for a convicted rapist. They already lose many rights and child custody should be one of the several they lose automatically. Forget about adding particular special circumstances. It doesn't matter who they raped, they wouldn't be allowed child custody rights and those they have by existing children should be removed.

Why stop at rape? Why not remove the rights of child custody to anyone convicted of a particular class of felony related offenses? 1st degree murder, Rape, etc. Why allow any of these sorts of convicted felons to rear children? Many are already no longer allowed to vote, have firearms or jury duty in some states, why then are they allowed to raise kids? The whole point of removing their right to bear arms and vote or jury duty is to reduce their influence in society... raising kids has a giant influence in society.
Don't just limit the permanent disenfranchisement of particular rights to rapist, there are others who would deserve the same removal of rights.

Non-forcible unintended pregnancy is almost as bad for the mother, child, and society.
Mandatory reversible sterilization at puberty. Permission to raise children granted with application, genetic and psychological screening, proof of means. Rape prosecuted as violent crime with special circumstances.
There is no more a "right" to have children than there is a "right" to operate a motor vehicle. Actions have consequences, let's stop inflicting those consequences on the innocent, they did not choose to be born and maybe their parents aren't making the best choice either.
