Bishop Museum has this great astronomy Highlight Calendar (every year):
http://www.bishopmuseum.org/planetarium/...s2015.html
"Lyrid Meteor Shower
Best viewing times: 21:01 am to dawn on April 21 and on April 22

The planet earth’s encounter with the comet debris that causes the Lyrid shower Lyrid Shower peaks at 12 noon on April 22, HST. This of course is during daylight hours, but it does mean that the early-morning meteor viewing on each side of that time should be good. Thus, the best viewing times will be from 12:01 am to dawn early on April 21, and from 12:01 am to dawn early on April 22, Hawai’i Standard Time. The shower is active from April 16 – 25. While not one of the strongest showers, the Lyrids can produce up to twenty meteors per hour. On the prime viewing mornings of April 21 and 22, 2015, there will be no interference from the moon, which sets much earlier in the evening. The Lyrids come from the debris of Comet C/1861 G Thatcher. "

Thank you, Carey. As mentioned, the Lyrids are not one of the stronger meteor showers but the dark sky on the early mornings Carey quotes will help. As with all meteor showers, there's always the chance of a very bright meteor, so probably depends how keen you are to stay up and watch.

The Lyrids does tend to have a burst of meteors every 60 years or so but unfortunately the next one isn't expected until the early 2040s, so mark your calendar.
