Emergency Siren Test Today - 11:45AM
#1
FYI:

The Hawai‘i Emergency Management Agency, formerly known as the State Civil Defense, will be testing the statewide outdoor siren warning system, along with the live audio broadcast segment of the Emergency Alert System, on Friday, May 1, at 11:45 a.m.

During the siren test, sirens will sound a steady tone for one minute. The tone is intended to alert the public of any emergency that may post a threat to life and property, in the event of an actual emergency. Though generally used for natural hazards, the alert system could also be used in the event of terrorism or acts of war.

If you notice any siren operation issues during the test, contact (808) 935-0031.

I'm just going to do my normal thing and as soon as the sirens start will run out naked into the neighborhood screaming "IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!". Once the all-clear is sounded then it's back home with a "see you same time next month".

Never understood why my neighbors look at me so strangely all the time...

Aloha Tom. I always wondered why the road down there is lined with people in lawn chairs on siren day. Now I see it's the "full moon phenomenon". Can it be seen from Mauna Kea?

ROTFLMAO, Mr. Tom!

OK, y'all, 11:45am today, do what you want for one minute. (I'm going with pog, and just scream a little. [Big Grin] (Mahalo, pog, very kind of you.)

JMO.

Aloha Opihikao! If you'd like, you and Pog can meet me here in HPP, and we can join the crowd awaiting Mr. Tom's appearance. I have folding chairs in the trunk of my car for us Tutus. AND the Jaboticaba Jelly finally "set", so it's not syrup any more! Jelly sandwiches and a good howl at the full moon! Happy May Day Everyone!
