Thank you.

This was in another post about Little Fire Ants:
"My neighbor referred me to Zackary the Fire Ant Guy 808-443-6008. I know of 3 different people & myself who are completely satisfied w/ his treatment."
I've used his service (KFA) and he's worked miracles on our five acres, although we have to keep it up. I recommend him.

If you want to control them your selves its not that hard to do
Read the info on the fire ant lab.

Mainly its find them with small sticks of pnut butter
Bait them to make the queen sterile with Tango and Extinguish

keep it up every 4-6 weeks Tango available at Crop Production service near the dump rd in hilo
Maintain a vigil by continued testing

Get together with a friend to buy the tango its a little spendy but works

At the risk of repeating myself (too late)... Tango doesn't work... check the other threads. The Hawaii Ant Lab is not using Tango to eradicate LFA from the neighbor islands because they found another product called Provaunt that actually works. Siesta for ground LFA, Provaunt Gel bait for the trees. It's what the exterminators and the Ant Lab use.

ETA: less drama

We do too. Kinda thought it was going to be hokie, but the fireant bites have reduced to zero at this time (the last month).

He did 3 treatments, 3 weeks apart and now we go to every 2 months, and then every 3 months. BUT our neighbor is also doing it. So multi-lot attack.

After reading the "Tango does not work" post from a previous thread, I did call the Ant Lab. They said, "Tango does work". They still recommend it and the gal said Provaunt is also used to supplement the treatment. Call/visit the Ant Lab if in doubt and get the real scoop.
