I've lived here for 35 years+ and the first two on this list I had no idea they were edible!

Edible may be a little subjective in this context. Just because it won't kill you might not necessarily make it edible for everyone.

the Jamaica Vervain is eaten here, most often the flowers are put in salads, and taste like mushrooms... we have a couple different types on Big Island...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stachytarp...amaicensis never heard of anyone eating Mimosa pudica or 'sleeping grass' though... ****************************************************************** save our indigenous and endemic Hawaiian Plants... learn about them, grow them, and plant them on your property, ....instead of all that invasive non-native garbage I see in most yards... aloha

There's also a fern that grows wild in my back yard. They like low lying areas and I think it's native to the islands. Well that's edible too and the shoots taste good in a special salad I've had prepared. I don't know the recipe or the name of the fern though. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
