In other sporting news, the TMT protestors are holding out on 50 million dollars in grant money for Hawaii Island students, until the standard "no rolling rocks into the roadway" clause is removed from the contract.

HOTPE; Lava diversions won't work, and aren't necessary.

Not a lot of surf in Tennessee.
One Thing I can always be sure of is that things will never go as expected.

Did he hurt himself surfing? I hope he is ok!

I don't think he hurt himself; It's a standard contract item, like motorcycle riding etc.

The NFL has a long off-season that falls under the contract. For those that surf, the sport is more than a physical activity, it's a passion.

I think either the Titans will accommodate him, or he'll find a team that will.

Once his rookie contract is done, yes. But drafted NFL rookies have little choice: either play for the team that drafted you or don't play at all. He could go play in Canada, but that's an unlikely route for the #2 overall pick. I suspect they'll work something out.

I suspect his family/agent/lawyer/coach/teammates will convince him to focus on his new job not his old hobby. Too much at stake to act like a thirsty kook now!
