Do you mean the antenna is on a 10' pole? My guess is that you need to play with the orientation (point it more west or east). Every time you move the antenna, you will have to re-scan the channels in order to retune the TV. The 13's have always been strong signals for me, not ones that usually give me trouble.

The long antennas are generally for VHF only. 13.1, 13.2 & 14.1 all use UHF RF Channels, so that may explain it. Also, 13.1 & 13.2 are weak at the middle and lower elevations of HPP if you're in that area.

13.1 & 13.2 are both on the Hilo bay front, so elevation is not working to their advantage. The lower the elevation, the more terrain gets in the way of the signal.

The long antennas are generally for VHF only.

Around here you kinda need both: Big Island has lots of VHF DTV; most mainland markets are all-UHF.
