Potential restrictions to Mauna Kea access
Hi beepbeep, I think I could have slightly rephrased my question in the first paragraph of my previous post. Before getting drawn into any debate involving something so utterly fantastic as the State of Hawaii reverting to a kingdom, it would only make sense to first consider if there is any legal means for that to even qualify as a remote possibility beyond a strictly hypothetical back and forth involving radical activist agenda.

Sorry, temporarily limited to typing in on a mobile keypad. Might result in more typos etc. than usual on my end

"PunaMauka2- It would look similar to when Germany had to deoccupy all the territory they were occupying."

I just can't get past this comment. It is so insulting to all those who fought for freedom in WWII and the millions that died because of the Nazis and the Japanese empire. Do you have any understanding at all about the sacrifices that were made to defeat possibly the most evil "empire" the world has ever seen? Comparing WWII to what's happening in Hawaii right now is ridiculous and demeaning. You should be ashamed.

I wasn't comparing what the Nazis did to what the US did. It was just an example of one nation occupying another then transferring to a deoccupation.

I guessed the US n Iraq would have been a better example.

Kaimana, care to answer my question to you yet?

I see you moved your radical political activism to another thread. Thought I'd give it another try here for you to explain by what legal avenue do you envision the kingdom replacing the State of Hawaii? ...realistically.

Not exactly sure what you're asking. Are you asking who will enforce international law and make the US reinstate the Kingdom or are you asking what the process of deoccupation would be if the US were to agree that they were occupying Hawaii?

Kaimana, by what legal avenue do you realistically see a kingdom taking the place of the State of Hawaii. Emphasis on realistically.

Do you know of a legal process by which a US state can leave the Union.

Legally, if there was no annexation then Hawaii has been occupied, therefore it was never a State so it wouldn't be leaving the Union since it was never in it. It would be a deoccupation.
