You know Bob - you are right. It's the geothermal plant. Mike K is actually a Zeta Riticulaun from the planet Quizada 4. They are slowly gassing us into submission and will then takeover the world using puna as their home base. Thank you for exposing this dastardly plan, we all owe you a debt of gratitude.

The very biggest ohia, such as at Hakalau on Mauna Kea, get to be just shy of four feet in diameter. But those are vanishingly rare, and even three feet is extremely rare. And that is on flows 30,000 years old, with deep soil in a "sweet spot" of rain and soil nutrients. Those in Puna don't get anywhere near as big.

Sure hope Ormats geothermal and helco are better prepared for Hilda, than they were for iselle. Hopefully Helco(Jay) will make the call to Shut the geothermal plant down this time, before hilda arrives. Then have a properly planned release of waste through the neighborhoods, without the extra evacuation scares.

"[...]Then have a properly planned release of waste disputing through the neighborhoods, without the extra evacuation scares."

I'd suggest taking this up with the county council as they are experts in waste disputing.

And don't forget, wasting time and taxpayers' money too - they're multi-talented...

A big Amen to that sentiment - what's interesting to me at this point is that as I drove up Po'ohiki rd a few minutes ago their was the stench of hydrogen sulfide in the air very near the plant , um, just like last year at the approach of Iselle.

Take another big hit Bob. Maybe you will see alien spacecraft flying around and spraying chemicals again, too?

liar. this is the kind of fear mongering crap that should get you kicked off PW. like shouting fire in a crowded theater. i live on pohoiki and there has been zero smell today or for that matter for weeks. you are either an agitator who likes to create a stir or an untreated mental health case. at any rate you are a liar.

edited to clarify obobs quote.

JMO here, We smelled the geothermal stink both yesterday and today, here in leilani. My younger boys can smell the stench better than the rest of us, maybe they are still sensitive to it? With winds like ours and the different individual sensitivities to the geothermal waste, I wouldn't call anyone a liar over it lavalava. Have you ever smelled the stench from a paper mill? Like the whole town can smell of rotten eggs to the visitors. Some who have lived close to them, some how don't smell it or aren't bothered anymore. Maybe things can be added to the releases to help mask the smell for some now days too.
