Tell us all, how much time encompasses, "recorded history"?
I just wonder why all of those abandoned ancient villages along the coast lines, with partially destroyed rock walls, were ever left behind? They run out of fish?
Tsunami, lava flows, depopulation through disease (the population of native Hawaiians dropped from 3-500,000 to @30,000 due to the latter)

Low, low tide in the ocean of clouds, rare. I'm reminded of Tsunami Bencana, when the ocean withdrew completely from the Phiphi Island, curious people went out on the tidal flat not knowing that it was just a prelude to the giant wave.

historic times, in Hawaii, is about 200 years, or when the white people showed up.
most likely cause of abandoned villages along the coast are the 1868 tsunami, generated by about a magnitude 8 in Kau.

More like 15,000 pure bloodline Tahitian-Hawaiians left. There are about 250,000 Hawaiians (meaning of Tahitian-Hawaiian descent and born in the islands) with 50% or more bloodline. And to say these people had no history of the events on their own islands is arrogant ignorance.

I have yet to see an eye form on Ignacio ,and in the last 3 hours , (the time of this posting - 3 hours ), it has made nearly no Eastward progress , and it is experiencing some shearing as well.
Have faith in the sacredness of this Island, and the strength of collective prayer, but by all means prepare , or as my teacher once said ,"safety first".

So those of you who follow and understand these events, how worried should I be right now?

Never worry, just always be prepared.
