Eight more TMT protesters arrested on Mauna Kea

Here is another article that may bring us back to the islands, at least Puna.

Also an interesting view here.

P.S. Also found an article Tomk and others may appreciate, as it does relate to Maunakea's importance.

Yep, just like the 'Nam I don't talk to FNG.

The Hawaiian Welcome Wagon isn't late, we just wait 2 years to see if you are serious.

gypsy, where do you find these articles, on Google Translate?

Either way, her article gets it wrong in enough ways to bear comment on ignorance and its location amidst sectors of Hawai#699;i’s settler colonial society.

On the contrary, if anything I try to make it a point to welcome newcomers to the area, perhaps helping them to more quickly understand and adapt to a new social environment, which is mutually beneficial. I read somewhere that aloha has to be earned. Rubbish. It can be lost, but doesn't require to be earned up front.

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs strongly condemns this morning’s arrests on Mauna Kea and again urges the state to cease further enforcement action and arrests until legal questions relating to the Mauna Kea emergency rules are properly resolved.

Confused, as usual: the camping was already illegal under the existing rules and laws, which makes "legal questions" regarding the "emergency" rules somewhat of a moot point.

I did not know that OHA was giving out money to people affected by the flow.

It's so confusing isn't it? The same people who are so certain some things that took place a hundred years ago are "illegal" can't figure out when told last month, last week, or yesterday, on multiple occasions, citing multiple laws that they are camping illegally.

"Wha? You mean here?"

So the day/night after the arrests were more protestors up there? Is this enforcement a once in a while random thing, or are they clearing them out? I can guess at the answer, but still wondering.

Protestors seem to be missing from this one -- so apparently not all multi-million-dollar scientific research buildings ("for the children") are created equal, and prime Waimea farmland isn't sacred.

Of course.. and to top it off OHA was scheduled, and did come, to visit the very day. Lots of coverage on Big Island Video News at:
