Gunshots on Kaloli Point
#21
Thanks, MarkP. I will stop in at J. Hara's soon and check it out.

Some of my airguns do okay with some Crosman Premier's. The Premier wadcutters often shoot pretty well. Oddly, Crosman doesn't seem to make wadcutters in 22.

At Walmart recently, I found one tin of Ruger round nose pellets in 22. I have a 1322 Crosman that loves them. But, nobody lists them or stocks them. Strange. I had never seen Ruger branded pellets.

Free shipping to Hawaii for $150 min order. Decent price on pellets.

Airgun forum... Everything you wanted to know.

Been shooting airguns for years. Have several classic European models, but they are still on the mainland.

J. Hara stocks Gamo.

on Amazon you can get this model that I believe is now discontinued.I bought one a few years ago and it will bring down a pretty big varmint.

The Pba ammo reached ballistic speed so it has a pretty big crack.I use a plastic tipped hollow point and it is a lot quieter.

Thanks! So, I have to check out Tokunaga's, and J. Hara's. WIll do.

And, Obie, is that Gamo air rifle pretty quiet shooting regular lead pellets?

Mine sounds about as loud as a good staple gun. To bring this back to Puna related, are we plinking 'pedes and Coqui, or the nefarious roof rat? Mine works quite well on all the above, just depends what time of day to "tune up the eyeballs" with the standard "peep" sight.

I looked at sports authority today and they had a decent selection of air piston rifles including several .22's. A big change from last time. I forgot to check to see if they had the pellets.

So, it seems to get around lack of public range, high prices (myself, and friend at pistol range in Hilo $50/hr. Sharing a lane, plus ammo another $30-$50). I need to get into air guns, and mothball the smokeless powder guns. What I am hearing, as long as pellet does not leave property, neighbor does not see me flashing gun, and does not complain about noise I should be alright. Thanks for all the good info. Folks.

Vegans/Vegetarians, or those who think that meat comes from neat packages in grocery stores, don't read:

As far as food we eat we use the air rifle for rabbits, ducks, and feral roosters. Head shots on all of them. Also good for rats and mongoose but of course we don't eat those. The chicken hens we can usually catch and the preferred method of dispatch is to use a comfort cone and a sharp knife.
