quote: ...Yeah, why bother listening to the discussion before voting? God forbid you might hear some information that might change your perspective. After all, the Board's newsletter and their perspective must be right, right? Lets hear it for voting unencumbered by the thought process!

"After all, the Board's newsletter and their perspective must be right, right? "
An excellent point... the current board LOST me with their fear mongering newsletter claiming that receivership could only lead to 10x the amount of road fees and my personal favorite: DESTROY OUR DIVERSE COMMUNITY BY FORCIBLE REMOVAL OF FAMILIES.. Where can I get my "Receivership / Common Sense 2016" election bumper sticker? I'm not going to be attending the meeting for fear of getting a contact high of whatever they've been smoking.

Orchidland Board President Ricky Turner has just sent out a letter stating that "This letter is an Official Disclaimer of the Newsletter Petition to remove two Board Members and Proxy Voting Ballots that were specifically generated by Ric Wirick, Tegen Greene and a small band of Board Members... not a majority, in order to control, manipulate and spend the Community's money without the review and approval of the full Board of Directors and its president." He goes on to cite several instances of the "sneaky, manipulative and corrupt behaviors that these two individuals along with their small band of supporters have been doing" and says as a result the November general meeting has been cancelled (since an official Newsletter and meeting notice cannot be generated in time to meet Bylaws mandates) and lawsuits are being initiated in the Third Circuit Court of Hawaii against these Board members for the offenses that they have committed against the Full Board of Directors, its President and the Community At Large of OLCA.
Just to reiterate, the Board President is now agreeing that many of the allegations first raised by the "Orchidland Voice" group are, in fact, true and that he, as Board President, will be taking legal action against these Board members. The full text of the letter can be found on the IMUA Orchidland Facebook page

I just went to the Facebook page and it stated:
1) The October newsletter I received in the mail was an unauthorized "fake" and 2) The official Orchidland website has been "compromised" WHAAAAAAAAAT? I'm at a total loss of who to believe. Facebook is not normally an accurate source of news or information.

Terracore... I can understand where you're coming from. The Orchidland situation is a mess. But just to be totally clear, the IMUA Orchidland Facebook page isn't the official Facebook page of the Orchidland Community Association - it's a Facebook page created by some Orchidland property owners who have concerns about the current Board. So like any other website (including the Orchidland "official" site..or even Punaweb...) you need to evaluate the veracity of any information you read and be aware of any potential bias.
Having said that, the letter from the Board President is authentic. He spoke briefly before today's meeting, and while I didn't hear all of his comments (I was arriving as he finished speaking and left the hall) the Vice President who chaired the meeting confirmed that the President felt the entire proceeding was not valid. As far as the website being "compromised," I think the poster who stated that was referring to the fact that the website is managed by the Board Secretary, one of the people the President has accused of maleficence.

This is a disturbing post from the FB group, is any of this true ?
I have attached to this post as well as printed the text of a letter regarding the "meeting" yesterday at the Ainaloa Longhouse. The letter was sent by Mr. Vijay Karai t and directed to his fellow OLCA-Board members as well as to the whole OLCA membership. For your information. Dear fellow board members, community leaders, members of Orchidland, I wanted to let you all know the strange meeting that happened yesterday. I am still trying to find a meaning in all this. Rick Turner spoke to the audience at 2:40 PM, declared the meeting invalid and left the building. Shortly thereafter Ric Wirick announced that the meeting was going to take place without the president and the VP Don Stoner would preside. Cult behavior: There was a conch a, a temple bell and a coconut sitting not he table. I didn't realize until after the meeting the significance of these items. A conch and temple bells and coconuts are sacred objects for the native Hawaiians and practicing Hindus. Before beginning the meeting, Don Stoner blew the conch and rang the temple bell. I know that Don is not a Native Hawaiian nor a practicing Hindu. This seemed like a strange cult inauguration or a voodoo preamble. I would like to know if that was what Don initiated. So unwittingly all the people in the audience became part of this cult ceremony. Would Don please explain this ritual and the presence of the coconut? Proxies and disenfranchisement; When I signed in, I expected Mr. Akana to hand me the proxies that were assigned to me, but he didn't. When I asked about the proxies he said he doesn't know about them and asked me to talk to Ms. Wewers. She in turn directed me to Ms, Tegen who in turn directed me to Mr. Wirick. This was unusual. When I asked Mr. Wirick, he reluctantly dug out a folder from a box and handed it to Ms. Tegen and she flat out refused to verify and issue me the proxies. Later when I publicly confronted Mr. Wirick about the proxies, he directed Ms. Wewers to verify and issue me the proxies. Ms. Wewers issued me 9 proxies but discredited one from Richard Greever, one from Michael Kerska and one from Forrest wood.(x-x-x-136, 3-1-6-12-1, x-x-09-037.) Ralph Boyea and Ariel Murphy brought in some proxies and were not accepted because they were not on the form that was mailed to the public. There was no statement that those would be the only proxies that would be allowed. Combined 27 of the proxy votes were disenfranchised. There may be countless others that were declined or plainly hidden from the members to whom the proxies were assigned. Could Mr. Ken Al Lo provide a list of the proxies that were mailed to his office or brought to his office by the members themselves like Mr Greever did. If one of the officers such as Mr. Wirick or Ms. Tegen Green hand carried a bunch of proxies, they should be discredited. I would like to know the number of proxies that each director received. Processing of votes: The votes were collected in a card board box that had a slit on the top and a huge hole on the side. These were not sealed and locked boxes. The votes can easily be retrieved from the hole and tampered. To say that these would be brought to Ken's office and processed is highly suspect. Why was Mr. Ken Ah Lo not invited to the meeting so he can personally take possession of the box and monitor the integrity of the ballots. Ballot tampering is highly possible with an open box. Any outcome from this ballot count is highly suspect. Master coach on the pedestal: Aside from the directors there was Lloyd Swierenga sitting next to Don and coaching them on each and every move. He said he is the parliamentarian. Does he have a license from the Hawaii board of parliamentarians, Is he an Apprentice or studying to be a parliamentarian? He disallowed 'point of order' on all occasions. This tells me that he is no parliamentarian. He was also coaching Don and Ric on what to answer for the questions raised. I thought a parliamentarian was supposed to direct the rules of the meeting, and not the contents of the speech. Now I know who is the brains behind this coup-d-etat. What a Sham!! Would some of you answer these questions? This is going to be a document when the petition becomes questionable in a court of law.

If everyone paid their fair share, road fees might stabilize or go down.
I've seen this one before, somewhere. |
