Mainstreet Pahoa Association
#1
Leilaniguy elsewhere mentioned making donations to Mainstreet Pahoa Association. I thought that MSPA was worth a topic line. Punaweb is not the only thing MSPA does. Most recently, for example, we produced the Pahoa Christmas Parade. Other activities are long term and ongoing.

Mainstreet Pahoa Association will accept donations. As a simple matter of fact the best way to support these community efforts is to become a member of Mainstreet and participate to the degree you can. Membership costs $10 per year. A member can vote for the Board of Directors. We have a number of understaffed committees.

As the Puna area grows we could very much use the energy and enthusiasm of our newcomers and established residents. We want to exert some small measure of control over the future growth here. It is more effective to do this as a group than to try as individuals.

So I would invite anyone interested to sign up with MSPA and add to our voice and effectiveness.

If anyone has questions or comments about MSPA this is a good place and way to discuss them.

One may join Mainstreet Pahoa simply by sending a note indicating a desire to join. Include name, address, email and phone info and a check for $10 payable to Mainstreet Pahoa Assoc. (P.O. Box 1189 Pahoa, HI 96778)

Or attend a meeting and do this in person.

Our Board of Director meetings are every 2nd Thursday (for example 2/9/05) at the Pahoa Community Center - 6:30 pm - usually till about 8 pm.

The Community Center is in the middle of Pahoa next to the fire station.

Do come.

Hi Rob,

Would you give me the address of the Pahoa Community Center please. I will be in town that week and if possible will attend this Mainstreet Pahoa Association meeting.

Mella, really you can't miss the Community Center -- right in downtown Pahoa right behind the two banks and the fire station (the banks are on the main road so look for them). Its a big complex with a pool right next door. And the pool is nice and FREE!
