dengue fever could be here to stay

Anyone else have DoH people come door to door in HPP? Checking on standing water, saying there was a "local" case.

Not here in the central section, Dory. What part of HPP are you referring to? And are you sure they were real DoH? I haven't heard about them going door to door, although I think it's a good idea if it's true. Troubling news for sure, but some kind of state response is a pleasant surprise.

Spoke to friends in mid-HPP on Kaloli side - they didn't have DOH visit them. Roughly where abouts were they going door-to-door?

ya, weird. Definitely DoH staff @ 29th off Makuu. They were handing out flyers & talking to residents. They even went on my neighbor's property who wasn't home & went around dumping out standing water. They had dish soap/water sprayers & sprayed any standing water. Now I'm curious why just my area. They said there was a confirmed case. Maybe they just started the campaign & will get to everyone.

What will become of all the ecovillages ?

No screens and a reluctance to use insect repellent will probably be the death of places like Belly Acres and Cinderland.

Dory,

Thanks for the info, and am glad these people turned out to be genuine. However, this is a perfect opportunity for criminals to get access to private properties, so please be vigilant and make sure anyone visiting your property is genuine and not a scam. Genuine DoH people will have ID and will be able to provide a phone number for you to check. If they have neither, don't let them on your property and call the police.

I'm still wondering if any one else in HPP had a DoH person come to their door?

It's especially interesting that DOH is (allegedly) doing door-to-door in HPP ... after claiming that they just don't have the manpower for such things.
