We are getting assaulted by small black, and larger red millipedes. They are crawling up the exterior walls, and also showing up in house. Home defense spray does not seem to stop them. We are in HPP, any thoughts or ideas to stop the assault, is anyone else having the same issue?

Where in HPP? Have you put any poisons around the house which may have killed a predator? I have seen them at my place (near the sea), but not a whole lot. After I rid the property of the snails, red ants and mosquitos, I'll look into them. One more pest in paradise....

How can you be assaulted by such benign appearing little creatures? We share this planet with some very necessary insects, no need to demonize and vaporize them all.

DELETE - Double post.
How or why I haven't the faintest idea.

When I think millipedes, I see a small gray metallic looking tube slowly shuffling across the floor.
When I see black or red many legged creepy crawlers running rapidly across the floor or walls I see centipedes.
Millipedes, supposedly, are pretty innocuous.
Centipedes are supposed to have a toxic bite.
I say supposed to because I've never had them pleasure of being bitten by one, and cannot verify it.
Plus, they are supposed to be quite aggressive.
My experience with them does bear that out.
Are you sure you're seeing millipedes?
Whenever we get centipedes coming into the house, I spray Home Defense around the exterior of the house foundation and areas they might lurk near the house.
They need moisture.
They die in the house because they dry out.
An 18" to 24" strip of exposed cinders around the foundation will discourage them.
We have a small lanai adjacent to the house that is on a wooden platform elevated several inches off the ground.
Underneath it is a centipede heaven.
I spray under there regularly.
We rarely see centipedes anymore.
It has probably been at least 6 to 9 months since seeing the last one in the house.
We used to see them quite regularly.

Be kind to geckos and toads. They keep the ants and 'pedes at bay.

Chickens LOVE centipedes. They fight over them.
