I am not enough of a gearhead anymore to know what the newest exotic sports cars even are at this point, but on my last several commutes home from Hilo I have noticed a quite a few new flashy sports cars that look very expensive, and are so distinctive that the makers don't even put their names on them. Is this just the good weather bringing them out, or has an exotic sports car club shipped their cars to the Big Island for a vacation?
When I was a teen in the 90s I was a card carrying member of FGA, or Future Gearheads of America. None of these were the American muscle cars we all lusted after, or the European models we never saw outside of magazines, but they sure look flashy, expensive and very fast.

I had my 1932 Bugatti Royale out for a spin over the weekend. I cover the name plate so I don't appear ostentatious.

Driving from Kapoho to Pahoa tonight, we passed a 1970's MGB convertible going the other way.
It was of course British Racing Green.

Mine is about as far from "sports car" as you can get, but my Citroen 2CV will be showing up soon!

The second time I came to the BI I rented a car from a private individual. The first one I rented had mechanical issues, as did the second and third, but finally on the fourth car he gave up his personal vehicle, a Subaru Impreza wrx sti (sport package). It was a pretty sweet ride. Every time I picked up a hitch hiker I told 'em I stole it and they in turn told me of the various things the police wanted them for. It was a lot of fun and very enlightening.

Possibly the best fun I've had in my life. Driving my sister's MGB Roadster in the early 90s. This wasn't hers, but looks like it:

I Miss the old MG and Triumph sports cars. I never owned, or even drove one, but did ride in an old MG, and a Sprite once when I was a kid. Very cool old cars.
I miss the motorcycles of the 50's and 60's too. Motorcycles looked like motorcycles should. Old Triumphs, BSAs, Royal Enfields, Nortons, etc. Triumph Bonneville owners and Harley-Davidson Sportster owners, had an intense rivalry.
Here is maybe the most beautiful motorcycle ever made, the Triumph Bonneville:
