Long term airport parking has gone up
#1
Just found out that airport parking rates at Kona and Hilo airports have gone up as of Mid December from $10.00 a day to $15.00 a day. Was wondering if anyone knows a long term parking solution (besides leaving our car at home and having friends drive us) that's outside the airport that has better rates (Hilo or Kona)?

I rent a car from Enterprise (not from the airport location). I can usually get it for about $30-$40 for the day including taxes. Easier than relying upon friends to drive you around and if your flight comes in late or early, its another advantage.

Add taxi cost - it's a bit of a hike walking, but at least you can drop the family off first. I tend to travel with just a big backpack which makes it much easier to take bus or hitch hike and store car at home.

I thought they had a weekly rate? $15/day is robbery.

I called the number at http://www.ifly.com/hilo-international-a...rt-Parking
No weekly rates. $180/month plus some sort of one-time $25 fee for a pass-card.

I was gone to the mainland for 3 months once and had long term parking. 500 dollars to get out of the lot! I told them cheaper to buy another car! They were not amused.

Shipman self storage is less than 35.00 per month for vehicle. Mine is on a month to month basis. Take a taxi from there to the airport for another 30.00 including a tip.
