<blush>
Gee, thanks, Nancy! Anyone can be a draftsperson nowadays with AutoCAD and all that! Much easier than the old days of pencils and paper! (Unless you were doing site maps on Maui, then it used to be ink on starched linen using a crowsquill pen. I kid you not!) A hui hou, Cathy Kurt Wilson

Aloha HA Dave,
No, not a "freelancer" more like a "feelancer" since I charge money! (Hehehe! Sorry, I couldn't resist.) I'll answer questions for free, but drawings cost money. I used to have an office on Oahu and I had a "real" business, but now I just work out of my house. Much easier commute! Plus folks on this island aren't as fussy as the folks on Oahu. Here it is quite common to have home based businesses. A hui hou, Cathy Kurt Wilson

Cathy, another benefit of working at home is that you don't have to get dressed!

Aloha John,
Well, my fuzzy slippers do seem to be essential office equipment now that my office is at home. (Just got a new pair from eBay in a horrible extra fuzzy pink with purple tips version. Hehehe! I like 'em although the dog is not too sure.) The other day I was so busy working to finish a job that when the client showed up a half hour early (just after lunchtime) I was still wearing my robe and those gosh-awful fuzzy slippers. Ooops! Not overly professional, that's for sure! Did have the job done on time, though, that's probably more important. Could you run "Typically Tropical Properties" from your house? Don't a lot of the other PunaWeb members have home based businesses? If we can get enough folks working at home, we can hui together and buy fuzzy slippers in case lots to save $$$! Ooops, the plotter is done printing now. Back to work, fuzzy slippers or no! A hui hou, Cathy Kurt Wilson

I used to run my business from home when Typically Tropical Properties was a one-person operation 13 years ago and I still remember when my wife asked "Where are you going sweetie? You can't go to work in your underwear!" after I opened an office in town and was leaving for work. I have 15 people working for me now so it would be difficult to run the business from home now.
