I think punatic007 is simply seeing something in my comment which just isn't there. The CBS article, from 2009, is a great example to apply the techniques used in the baloney detection kit.

From the CBS article: "The risks of serious adverse events including death reported after Gardasil use in (the JAMA article by CDC's Dr. Barbara Slade) were 3.4/100,000 doses distributed."

VAERS, the system used by the CDC to report 'serious adverse events' after vaccination, takes any adverse event into it's database. You could literally have a similar rate after giving subjects a drink of water. Before throwing vague aspersions around, wouldn't it be wise to have an actual argument to support the anti vaccine position?

The vast majority of those reading this thread, including myself, have likely been exposed to HPV. That makes you at one point capable of being a carrier and infecting others.

Personally, I would feel better knowing I wasnt infecting others with HPV.

Another thing to consider for those regarding that article as having weight because it was on CBS - it was written by Sharyl Attkisson, who now claims CBS is a tool of the Obama administration and that the government hacked her computers (after which she kept using them for some reason).

I copied the CBS link because I assumed it held some professional standards BUT there are many many article on the net cautioning that our current info about HPV and the vaccine is not yet to be taken as solid truth. Needs more research.

I think you are the one who is polarizing here not the website. Some of my scientist friends can get quite boring when they polarize.
