We are a Casting Company in Los Angeles with more years experience than we can count. Our full resume can be found on our website, but we specialize in off-grid and survival type shows. I came across your information online and wanted to reach out to you.

We are casting a compelling, new documentary series that will follow a multi-generational family living off-grid in the pioneer tradition. We are looking to cast a family that thrives independently off of the land, without the conveniences of modern society. This show is in development, meaning it has not been sold to a network yet. So there are no promises at this stage but also no commitment to participate on your end.

Sounds like it would be the Hawaii version of the show, Alaska: The Last Frontier, which I think is on the Discovery Channel. It's a pretty entertaining show actually.

Alaska: The Last Frontier? Please! I know some of the Kilchers, that show is a farce. They live 10 minutes from a Safeway on the main road, on the grid. There's a reason Jewel got as far away from that nutter family as she could. They are the joke of Homer. The only sane Kilcher is Mossy and her husband....and they refuse to be on the show.

If I were making a 'reality tv' show, I'd showcase some of the truly off grid families living in Puna. The people living under tarps, in 10 by 10 sheds, in a series of cobbled together sheds and so on, up to those living in fully permitted homes with solar.
