Forced vaccinations

Sorry that my previous post was too convulated ( Paul W).

Scientific methods used in vaccine studies are important to read and I have read them. . Have you? ( Vancouver Island R)

Just because something is approved by FDA, that does not mean that smart thinking informed people give up their own critical thinking and research on vaccines/drug/product.
I have already outlined above a few things trumpeted as great until people continued to die from them.

The FDA DOES NOT conduct studies. It evaluates studies already conducted. This body has ok'd drugs that later had to be withdrawn because they were killing people. This is a fact not my opinion.

I am very much aware that nothing is 100% safe, I have not said this in any of my posts on this topic.

All kidding aside, I happen to actually know a scientist whose specialty is Public Health. She says to get the vaccinations already and that dinner will be ready in a few minutes.

She has worked with and trusts the CDC. Of drug companies, who can say... but the CDC means well and does good work.

The controversy over HPV is driven by religious/moral/parenting angst over giving a shot to our teenage daughters that makes it safer for them to have sex. Some parents find that conversation... awkward.

In fact, yes, I have read numerous studies and have the education to understand them. What's your point? The only methodology criticism I can find that you've posted in this entire thread was to criticize the lack of a double blind longitudinal study. However, the massive longitudinal studies done in recent years are pretty conclusive. Also, what would make you think you need a double blind for something like an HPV vaccine? Are you positing that there's a placebo protection from HPV (and if so, what on earth are you thinking)? That's the main reason for doing a double blind in the first place.

"Open mindedness works both ways as pointed out in baloney video.....pity presenter didn't take his own advice when he dismissed all things that he wanted to disparage."

Would you be kind enough to point out exactly what Michael Shermer disparaged and dismissed? Of those, which claims actually have evidence that should be taken seriously and will survive the scientific method?

BTW, it's interesting that you chose to call the video the "baloney video". The video is about a baloney detection kit inspired by Carl Sagan. I'm curious why you would choose to rename it.

Tom K: I did not intentionally rename video it was simply an attempt to not write out the whole title, was not referring to the content. But video makes disparaging claims about several things, pyramids" pile of rocks", spirituality, ESP (

VI: obviously you are intentionally denigrating what I said about placebo. Placebo in Guardisal studies contained additives. Why don't you give me your explanation as to why this was necessary since nothing I would say would be accepted by you.

MBB, unfortunately this particular crowd only knows how to denigrate, they seem to be lost when it comes to intelligent conversation unless you agree with them. Then the words come out smart but not bright.

I was shocked when I first read about the additives in the placebo, which in my opinion renders the study unacceptable.

Vaccines need to be a personal decision especially in the case of adults. I haven't thought about it enough regarding the underaged.

It's difficult to get this back to Puna or Hawaii, but the pyramids are made of rock and there's a pile of them there. That's not being disparaging. As for spirituality and ESP, neither have been shown to be real. You're doing exactly the same thing Shermer warned against - picking on small things and ignoring everything else.

I also re-watched the video tonight to see what he said about ESP. I didn't see or hear him mention it once. I apologize in advance if I simply missed it and would appreciate it if you could point me to the part of the video where he mentions ESP.

Punatic007,

Do you realize you're doing the same thing as you're accusing others of doing? I strongly suggest you attend a science conference one day, perhaps on a topic that's controversial. You will see it's a no-holds barred meeting with little respect for hurt feelings, but it's the way to seek out what works and what doesn't. Just because someone disagrees you doesn't mean they're denigrating you. The arguments are discussed, not the personalities, but the latter is what you are doing.

My assumption would be that they wanted to test guardasil's unique agents against the standard adjuncts included in most vaccines, but I don't have the original study so I can only assume. This would filter out effects of the standard components of vaccines to try to just see the effects of the active components of the vaccine itself. Why don't you give me your explanation since nothing I say would be accepted by you.
