Very encouraging to see hookena will be reopened tomorrow. We just love to hang out and fish down there, especially during the summer months.

locally acquired. ... the person did not have a history of recent travel outside of Hawaii.

Too bad. There was almost a month free from new cases. I guess vigilance is required for some time still.

A field trial releasing genetically modified mosquitoes in Florida would not harm humans or the environment, according to documents released Friday by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Another dengue case was confirmed recently bringing the total of confirmed cases to 262 now. On a positive note, our waipio valley has been reopened for tourism.

P.S. The new case of dengue came from the leeward side of the island. Anyone know a bit more about this new dengue case, like where on the leeward side exactly?

Look at the risk map, only two areas listed as a risk leeward side. Oddly, Volcano is listed as 'some risk' right now (and the only place windward).

No new cases since mid-March. When is it declared to be over? I thought at 4 weeks.

It will be over when the overtime $ runs out.
