Hwy 130 is bumper to bumper and not moving from HPP to Pahoa. If your wanting to go to Pahoa from Keaau today ...try later.

Mahalo - Vic from another thread should take note of this,in addition the county is re paving sections of the Puna Emergency Access Road through H.A. and is backed up for 10 or more minutes at a time in each direction.
Might be just one of those days just to stay home.

Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got til its gone
They paved paradise
And put in a roundabout

They killed the ohia
And put one in a tree museum
Then the County charged the people
A dollar and a half to seem 'em

I just got out of that hell hole. The reason for it is the county is too stupid to post a cop or a flagger at the Kahakai Blvd. light heading into Pahoa. Traffic backs up every time the light turns red and there is no good reason.

Had to go to the bank in Pahoa from HPP and saw it just in time to turn right instead of left. Cost me a trip to Hilo I didn't want to make. What a joke.

I went to work very early this morning, smooth sailing. Had an appointment at the house I never made because I was stuck in traffic, it was backed up well before Shower and took forever to get home. What a mess!

when i went past the longs' traffic light, it looked like the fire dept was doing some cleanup - sand or cat litter on something. didn't see a wreck or anything so hoping that was not the cause. it might have contributed to the back up as well.

If today doesn't convince people we need a second road I don't know what will.
