All good suggestions - Turn signals along with hand signals are both helpful to all others and do save lives.
Just common sense .
In the Hawaii State drivers test manual book - no mention of correct round about procedures - but is mention of when approaching rail road crossings which as far as we know - no rail roads on this island - nor trains or rail road lights or their meanings .

AHH, that everyone will use a roundabout properly would be the HOPE, but this morning, just before 9am, there was a motorist going the WRONG WAY in the roundabout...and this is while it is still a construction site with quite a few workers about & a heck of a lot of signage on what to do & which way to go...
Add to that this first evening when a truck went up & over the center brick area...
I think most here can see that there are some little whoopsies that are bound to happen when you have some folks driving... and these are some examples of what to expect with a roundabout... some folks will never care to do it the proper way & some will never learn... and some may learn ...with time...

I saw people today waiting for the whole roundabout to clear before entering! If you can make it in without getting hit, go for it.
It's easier if you have some speed built up.
The left indicator is handy to let people know you are not exiting. if you don't indicate then nobody knows if you're doing that on purpose or not. So many people everywhere have given up indicating.

Lee - it's what drivers in the UK are taught to do and they are thoroughly tested on this when applying for a license. The exception is if you're heading straight on. In that case you don't signal until you pass the last exit before yours. I don't know if the same applies to US states, but Paul explains the reasoning very well. It works very well but does require drivers cooperating and following the rules.

This has happened to me twice already, and I've only been though the roundabout a handful of times... I am waiting for my turn to enter into a busy roundabout, the car in the roundabout stops for me offering me to go, I don't... The car sits there for at least 15-20 seconds till they figure out I am not going to go.... Then they go... Please, if someone offers you to GO, stopping for you, do not go, send a message to them, that this is unacceptable.

On one of my passes through the roundy yesterday, I used the signal method mentioned.. Of course, nobody else was but hope it catches on. When leaving the hardware store, I stopped by the sandwich shop and watched the roundy for about 5 minutes or so... Very frustrating to watch to say the least... People constantly stopping at the yield sign with nobody coming and the people in the roundy, stopping or slowing to let somebody in. I wish they would station traffic control officers in the center to "flag" the people on to keep the flow going... It is the only way they will learn. Or, start issuing tickets for hindering the flow of traffic.. The word pf tickets will pass around very quickly and maybe keep the flow going.

This really calls for a "fix-it ticket" -- if cited, simply attend the Roundabout Training, and the citation will be dismissed.
Problem is, then we need another $5M for the Roundabout Training Facility...
