Where to buy 3 gallon water bottles??
#11
I've seen a Makuu vendor with crates that hold 2 x 1-gal glass jugs -- possibly a better deal in the long run, especially if you already consume something that comes in a 1g jug.

One has to pay extra for 3 gallon plastic jugs that are organic, GMO free, etc.

After four years of missing them when they were in stock, Walmart has 3 gallon water jugs for sale for under seven dollars each. And of course their usual 5 gallons for under nine dollars each are in stock today.

Seems to me, when we got 2 of the three gallon bottles, we got them at Ace in Keaau.

Not so fast. That number is not a "BPA rating", it's a resin code, identifying what type of resin the plastic is composed of. Codes 1-6 are very unlikely to contain BPA, while code 7, a 'none of the above' code, can contain BPA. Resin code 7 is the one to avoid.

Yes they have been selling the 3 gallon jugs at Ace, however I could not afford them. For what they were charging I would expect them to be full of rot gut vodka.

Forgot to add, the 3 gallon jugs at Wally World are stackable (they are rectangular). They can be stacked on their side or alternatively vertically one on top of the other. In other words the bottom of one bottle has a cavity to receive the neck of the one below it. Before you think that sounds too salacious for Walmart, the stackable comment on the jug is listed as "empty only", however, looking at the engineering I'm guessing that is lawyer-liability-ese and they can probably stack 2 high. I'll let you know next time I go fetch some county water and give some time for the stack to either succeed or fail.

I buy them at Ace but they are expensive - $18, but they are thicker and sturdier than the 5 gallon ones.

You're doing pretty well if you can manage 3 gallons Terricore. I've "graduated?" to a carload of one gallon jugs. We even gave away our 5 gallon dispenser and bottles. Ah, the Golden Years!
