Kaiser Permanente evacuation
#1
So I had one of my semi-decade appointments at Kaiser Permanente yesterday and pretty much as soon as I had checked in (about 2:45pm) the facility was evacuated because of an unknown mystery package.

They are back open. Don't know how long they closed yesterday. A worker today over the phone said it wasn't a prank, but wouldn't say more.

Anybody got the scoop, the scam, the lowdown?

Cheers,
Kirt

I don't know, but hopefully it wasn't like this:

A stadium of 77,000 people evacuated because they forgot to remove a fake bomb used to train dogs.

"While this item did not turn out to be a viable explosive, on appearance this device was as real as could be, and the decision to evacuate the stadium was the right thing to do, until we could be sure that people were not at risk."

That private security firm must be the only ones in the world that have dogs trained to open toilets and recognize explosives by sight instead of by using their noses.

So, back to Kaiser; do you mean the Hilo Clinic?
I was trying to reach my doctor at Moanalua today, but the phone just rang and rang. I wonder if there's something going around.

I don't know, but I'm sure it had something to do with Obamacare.

Well, looks like they kept it successfully under wraps. Surprising to me that it wasn't "news".

Ha! from me, too!

I was there that morning for a 9:30 appt - maybe it was that tuna sandwich I left in the waiting room?
