colorful tile

Anyone have some extra colorful tile for sale? Small amount for a backsplash. Everything in Home Depot is drab and colorless.

Yeah, what's up with the everything beige?
I think you can custom-order bright tiles at HD. Last time I looked, maybe a year ago, they had a sample card up of bright, single-color tiles in every color of the rainbow. Maybe check their website.
There are tile places in Kona, don't know about selection.

Property value disease. A mental illness where you are more concerned about the resale value of your property than enjoying it. Have to keep those neutral colors you know, wouldn't want to offend the senses of a future buyer.

Hunt, it is not just here... after I got into cut-tile (opus sectile) mosaic work, I started looking for colorful tiles everywhere...even on every trip to the mainland, and new tile is pretty much in the beiges, unless you custom order (with a long lead-time)

Some other things that may work for backsplash that I have used or seen used include:
Colorful plates (if you cut them into designs or tiles, they can be chipped & broken, but have seen people instal small plates into a backsplash)
Old used tiles (Habitat & the transfer station Re-use sometimes have them)
Ceramic or porcelain figures (there are artists that sell at Makuu & High Fire that have cut out designs that you can place into a backsplash)
Cut out silhouettes in another shade (one of the main things I do, as there are only so many sources for colorful tiles!)
EDIT..cause I forgot! Stained Glass! This is available here & most everywhere!)

Some of my work, maybe to give you ideas on what you can do:

Carey your work looks great! You really have a talent! I have a box of jade colored tiles I'm bringing with me that I salvaged from a fireplace of a early 1900s house. I'm now inspired to see what other salvaged crazed beauties I can find to bring over! So many possibilities!
