Farm Building Kits - no building permit required

Well, we have our building kits in warehouse and I promised you some pictures. We are just finishing up construction of our Model 200.... took 32 senior citizen man hours to assemble it.

So I am attaching a link below to a photo essay of the construction process, an information page and a price list and invite you to contact Brooks (936-5827) if you are interested in seeing the unit in person.

The model is located at the corner of Hwy. 130 and Orchidland Dr. where it will be used to store a small lawn tractor and farm equipment.

These buildings do not require a building permit on agriculturally zoned land. The code was changed a couple years ago. hope you will pass this info on to anyone in your ohana that might be interested.

We were pleased that this bolt together system worked well.... holes lined up. It went together with no tool or equipment larger than a ladder. They can be constructed raised up 18" above the pier blocks (as shown below) or set low directly on the pier blocks without the post system. No poured concrete is needed. Windows and doors can be placed where ever you want them.

No wood used in the building at all.

The drawings are hard to read, model numbers appear to be nominal sf.

How do the walls compare to shipping containers for thickness and cutting openings?

The walls are known in the industry as "sandwich panels". These are thin painted steel inside and out and EPS in the middle. They are 3" thick and easy to cut. These buildings are not containers. They are more sophisticated than that and are employed all over the world for housing and other uses.

Ah, but then you don't get the nice framing ("encased with galvanized steel channel").

How difficult/expensive would it be to order a kit with more windows, maybe a roll-up door?

My application requires greater than 18" foundation height; pour taller piers?

Typical "metal building" is closer to $10/sf, but is non-insulated, assumes a slab, shipping is extra (and needs a forklift to unload).

Other issue being: metal buildings with non-insulated roof panels in the sun tend to make a nice sauna, which might not be desirable...

This info is just coming out the door. I appreciate your questions as I work on the web site.

Windows and doors are included.

There is a method for encasing cut panel edges.

An open house is under discussion after the web site is up and a few other things in line.

No need for poured concrete.

Our posts are 18" only.

The bottom of the trusses are nicely laid up to add a ceiling and roof insulation if you want to.

I hope to be able to handle special orders in the future.
